I am pleased to announce the addition of a second ZboX server. The new server is named "Nova" and is located in the Liquidweb Data Center in Lansing Michigan. Liquidweb's Data Center is world class just like the first servers (named Comet) NAC Data Center. Nova is a dual intel "Xeon" cpu machine running at 2.8 ghz with 2 gigs of ram and three 10,000 rpm hard drives. Just like Comet, Nova is fully managed by a team of Systems Administrators 24/7. Any problems the server has will be immediately acted on by them. Just like with Comet, any problems with Nova will be fixed probably even before I know about it.
The addition of Nova to ZboX means several things. Firstly, that we will no longer have all of our eggs in one basket, so to speak. The odds of both servers being down is very slim. Anyone with a 25 meg account and higher will have the option of splitting their accounts between the two servers. You can use the space on Nova for site mirroring, backup, or anything you would like within the confines of our TOS of course. If you want to move your entire account over to Nova we can do that for you also. However, users with subdomain accounts (username.zboxhosting.com) will have to change to username.zboxhosting.net if you decide to move everything to Nova.
Users who wish to split their accounts between the two servers, just email me at support@zboxhosting.com with the amount of disk space and bandwidth you would like on your Nova account. Yes you will get Cpanel and Ziteman with your Nova accounts also.
Another new feature is off site backups. Once a week a complete backup of all files on the two ZboX servers will be sent to totally different data center locations. These backups will be in addition to the daily, weekly, and monthly backups kept on the servers themselves. You can never have too many backups and these off site backups will be for "just in case".

And of course things change. Since the last post, we have moved all of our clients to two different new servers. Both servers are now located in the One Wilshire Data Center in Los Angeles. Both servers are AMD dual Opterons's with 2 gigs of ram, three 160 gig hard drives configured in a raid 5 setup, and a 400 gig backup drive! These are business class servers and they can handle anything we can throw at them. In addition to our servers, our connectivity with both Mzima and Savvis provide us with bandwidth unmatched in the Msntv hosting community. Thanks to Mzima and Savvis we will soon be doubling the bandwidth allotments on ALL hosting accounts. For both current and new accounts. PC/Mac/Msntv2 users on broadband will love the fact that out connectivity/server combo will totally saturate (max out) their broadband connections!
In addition to the above our web based file manager is both Msntv/Msntv2 and PC/Mac compatible. And is so good that most PC/Mac users will find their FTP clients gathering dust on their hard drives. Our file manager will also allow server to server transfers at blazing speeds. Transferring a 5 meg or larger update to your forum or blog will only take a few seconds using server to server transfers.
For Msntv/Msntv2 users we now have an installation of MagickStudio. MagickStudio is a very powerful web based image editing interface to ImageMagick. Our MagickStudio installation is private for our members only. Combined with that plus our enterprise class servers you'll discover one of the fastest and glitch free MagickStudio installations in the Msntv community.
As of July 27th 2006 we will have been serving the Msntv/Msntv2/Pc/Mac hosting community for three years. We have plans as small as 10 megs of space for 10 dollars per year, to as large as 500 megs of space for 100 dollars per year. We also provide the option of splitting your account between our two servers for 25 meg or larger accounts. And all of the above comes with our 90 day money back guarantee.
