Ziteman vs The Browsers
« on: March 22, 2005, 07:30:17 AM »

Hi Bert...

It has come to (crashed into actually) my attention that the editor in Ziteman needs a little tweak. The editing tool (change/replace) doesn't function with the Mozilla Firefox browser. It goes thru the motions, but doesn't actually make the changes. Think you could check it out? Hmmmm? Please? We really like Mozilla. Please?... smile

Hi Sandy,
Yup you are right. S&R does NOT work with FIrefox. I'll have to get with Zoob and see how easy/difficult it will be to fix. So in the mean time don't delete IE yet!

Oh never fear, I'll keep them all, even the free Opera which is unimpressive indeed with all its ads. rolleyes

You know Sandy now that you have a PC an editor on your machine can be a very good thing. Here is a good one:

The price is right (free). I use the Php version for the great syntax highlighting. But Html Gate is also free. Give it a shot.

I noticed myself this week that the search & replace doesn't work right from the pc.
My webpage template has many occurences of  "groovy??" that I used to change globally to "groovy45" (or whatever page number) when doing a new page. But when I try from my FM on the pc, the result is "groovy45y??".
Is there any update on this I thread I missed, as to whether the S&R function can be fixed for pc use?

Hi Col,
Well as we said, it doesn't work on Firefox and possibly other browsers. And it doesn't look like we can fix it without a major rewrite of the code. It does work just fine on Internet Explorer 6 however. But there are lots of options for PC's with regards to editors. Check out the one I posted below.
