Yes, Java clients just like the Webtv javascript clients do not use the server at all after the chat connection has been made. I usually recommend this one:

http://www.pjirc.com/main.php

However there are a couple of things with Java clients. First, they don't work with Webtvor Msntv2. Second, that means you already have a PC. Third, why bother with a Java client when you have a PC as you can easily download a free stand alone Irc client that allows you to connect to any Irc server, anywhere, and do it much quickly than a Java client? LOL! I know, it looks cool an a website.

Sorry, but to not so quickly answer your question, sure go ahead. Either that one or the one I posted above.

Hey Bert...

it's just an alternative for a friend of mine that doesn't wanna download a mirc for themselves...pffft

somethin about problems with hackers in yahoo chat... don't really know the whole deal about it...

I rarely go to chatrooms...

probbly cause I'm such a crappy typer...

I'm thinkin ummmm... maybe the last time I was in one, I talked to you...LoL

& if you remember it, that's been quite a while...

I've no clue what the device even looks lilke...

all the javachats I've found on puter so far have fonts too small for me to read easily without hawkin the monitor...ack

I friggin hate that & just don't have the patience 4 it...

anywaze...

Thanks a bunch...J
