Zip and EXE files
« on: April 18, 2005, 06:49:34 AM »

Good morning!

Was wondering if I can upload a zip file and very small exe file to my acct.

Then unzip the file into all the images I need to use for work, rather than one-by-one.

As for the exe, was wondering if I can work it within my acct.

??

Thanks very much :)

Uploading zip files is no problem. After you upload your zip file in Ziteman click on the "Unzip" link to the right of the filename.

As for the .exe file, our servers run Linux for their operating system. .exe files are Windows files. They won't work on our servers. What does the file do? Maybe we can find an equivilant Linux version.

cool

Maybe it is symantics, but I use winrar, so they are rar.

When I hit the unzip it doesn't do it.

Do I need to download a copy of winzip and then do it?

Actually semantics are very important when talking about compressed files. There are several types. Both ZboX servers will handle .zip, .gz, .tar, and .tar.gz compressed file extensions. .rar files are not supported. You can create .zip files using winzip or several other compression programs. I use and older version of Ultimatezip which is available here:

http://www.ultimatezip.com/download.htm

It works great and handles all of the file types ZboX is compatible with and then some.

Color program? You mean like to get the color code from an image? Zoob has one of those here:

Let's assume I know nothing, LOL, it's not hard to do!

I saved a zip file, well two, to my pc. One is a empty pixel gif and the other is a cursor file. I unziped them. Now how do I get them to my ZboX html page?

I may be a newbie, but even I know ZboX Rocks!

Welcome to the forum! All you would need to do, is scroll down to the bottom of your file manager. You'll see six form boxes with a "browse" button next to them. Webtv users don't see that section of the file manager. Click on one of the browse buttons. Next locate the file on your PC in the list that comes up. Then click on the file name. Now just click on the Upload button in the file manager. Your file will now be uploaded. Glad you are liking ZboX.
