figured I'd ask instead of attempting this in the dark & making a security hole...
Thanks...J

Hi J, Well, it all depends on what you want to do. For the most part RSS is used to "broadcast" a blog's or websites content changes to everyone who subscribes to that feed. For instance I have set this forum up so that folks that use Firefox can take advantage of it's "Live Bookmarks" feature. They click a link in their statusbar, and this will allow them to subscribe to the feed, Firefox will then create a folder in your bookmarks with whatever title you wish. When you click on that folder, you will see the latest titles for the last 20 posts in this forum. Click on one of those topic titles and it will take you directly to the post. Very cool!
Most modern blogs, forums, and portals support RSS. I've found that it's always a good thing to hang out in the scripts user forum if possible. You can learn an awful lot that way. Here's another site with more on RSS:

Hope that helps,
Bert
P.S.
Keep in mind that RSS does not work with Webtv. And I don't believe it currently works on Msntv2 either. Reason being is that RSS needs xml files to work. And Webtv can't handle that format.
