Happy New Year - Looking for your help
« on: December 31, 2005, 10:05:20 AM »

I'm toying with an idea - and I need your help. For ANYONE who has a microphone or the ability to send me an audio wav or mp3 file - I have the ability to put together a montage of anyone who wants to send a short New Year's greeting to everyone.  I'm going to put them all together - it will be played in the webtroopers audio stream tonight - but I'll also put up a link here & at webnuts for anyone who wants to hear it - I can't post it in RA form - but I can post it as a wma and mp3 file.

If you have the ability to record a wav file - email me at mlski1@yahoo.com sometime today

If you don't have the ability to record - but have a mic & voice capabilities in Yahoo or MSN IM - you can IM me at
yahoo - mlski1
msn - mlski1@yahoo.com

For PC users - if you'd like to play with a relatively easy recorder - audacity is a pretty easy program to DL & use - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/  (there's another source mentioned below)

What to include in your message - your name & your greeting! Hey this is whoever wishing you a Happy New Year - or whatever.  Don't worry too much about quality - just speak clearly.  I can clean up the quality to a point.

The earlier in the day you get me your message the better!!

Also - anyone with Windows XP has a built in sound recorder too, go to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Audio Recorder

This will give you the ability to make a 60 second .wav

It's not great quality, but it is an option.

Another option is The Audio Recording Wizard http://www.nowsmart.com/arwizard/ they have a free trial version that produces several formats from many sources. The free version is limited to 3 minute audio clips, plenty for this use.
