I'm not sure why those files are loading that way. I am beaming them from 'my pictures' folder on my pc. they show up as regular gifs in the folder. It happened to me again, but this time I was able to delete the file. I think it has to do with the way they were saved from a paint program I was using. I have corel painter and photoshop elements and I think I must have saved the pics improperly. I'm still learning those programs.

Well, I don't know if I can tell you exactly, but I didn't upload them any differently to my zbox if that's what you're talking about. I go to the bottom of the page and click on where it says 'brouse'. My pictures gallery of my pc shows up. I click on the pic to open, and then click on upload.
It has to have something to do with the way I had saved the pics in the first place. Elements is much like photoshop. It was created by Adobe. It looks the same and many tutorials work for either. Elements is like a stripped down version. The full version Photoshop CS2 costs about $700 and Elements costs about $79. I got mine when I bought a Wacom tablet and Tech pen for $109. It also came with Corel Painter which is a great paint program, but I think that's where my problem occured. Both programs allow you to save a file in many layers which allows you to continue editing later. I'm not sure, but I think this is what happened, and I tried to post that picture rather than one which had been 'flattened' into a jpeg or gif.
If you need to know more just ask, I could try to replicate what I did if want. It's hard to know exactly what I did when I thought I was doing the same way as always.

Ok. It's not that big of an issue as if the files blow up we can always delete them. I'm just curious as to why that is happening. Like I said it seems the actual digital information of the pic is translating to the file name somehow. Which is weird. I guess just make sure the file extension for the file you are uploading is .jpg, .gif, .png, or .bmp. Native Photoshop file extensions (.psa) should upload fine, although I don't think you would be able to view the image on the web. I'm not sure about native Painter files though.

OK, I'd like to know as well. That way I can be sure of not doing it again. I looked and the paint program also can save files in TIFF and RIFF. Not sure if that is what caused the trouble or not. But like you say, no big. Something else I just thought of. I have saved a pic from corel painter before and then tried to edit it in Windows Picture It 9, and the pic shows up as huge in the veritcal. So huge that you can't make out what it is. It's like it's one pixel wide and hundreds tall.

Extreme novice at painting. I'm a writer at heart. I have a pretty good following in fanfiction circles on the net. My last project which is posted on voy has received to date over 30 thousand hits.
This new one I'm doing on zbox (haven't anounced it yet) is a little different. I decided instead of writing one of the chapters; I'm going to do the whole thing in comic book form. Only thing is, I don't know how to draw. So I've bought comic books, drawing books, how to draw comic books, and taken a drawing class. I've also bought all kinds of software and cameras and you name it. I'm on a steep learning curve. But, you know, it's something to do, heh.
