Ok, here are some of the reasons I haven't been online much lately (besides all the painting we're doing).
1st, my 5 yr old dog Mocha was diagnosed a year ago with an autoimmune disease called discoid lupus. this attacks her nose, makes big cracks in it; some dogs loss a lot of the cartilage of the nose. then a few months ago she was diag. with arthritis in her hip. now she has another autoimmune disease - KCS, or dry eyes. so she'll need eyedrops the rest of her life. AUTOIMMUNE means her body attacks itself. she is on a bunch of medications forever.
2nd, my 8 yr old bird Rosie started laying soft eggs a couple of weeks ago, I thought I was going to lose her, she was not well at all. the good news is she is much better now, thanks to my good friends, the vets i work with. (the first egg was really gross, the innerds was all bloody, yuck!) but today, the egg she laid was almost normal again, yes! and, i have a friend keeping the male for a few weeks until she's back to normal.
so i've been at the vets a lot the last couple of months, almost as much when not working as working. thank goodness for my 1/2 price! oh, did i say that Mocha also has food allergies, and is on a special (expensive) food?
so anyways, that is what i've been doing lately, caring for my babies........

{{{donna}}} I knew you were redecorating your house, so knew you have been busy. But never knew about Mocha. I'm so sorry to hear of her troubles. I hope she is feeling alright, with the meds, and know she must enjoy the special attention you give her. And happy to hear that Rosie is going to be alright! Thanks for giving us the update. We all care about our lil furry and feathered friends (family members) You take Care, too!

((((Donna))))
Sorry to hear about Mocha Donna. But it is good to hear that Rosie is doing better. When Dude was younger he was our problem child. Had to take him to the Vet several times during that spell. The worst was I came home one day and Dude was down on the front porch. Very lethargic, and he wouldn't get up. Took him directly to the Vet and he had a temp of 105 if I remember correctly. Never did find out what caused the fever. He didn't have an abcess (sp?). But the Doc kept him over night just to be safe. That time skeert me!
