Php 5 is the latest version of Php. The problem Php 5 has is that it's not backward compatible with some older scripts such as blogs, forums, image galleries, or Content Management Systems. I've been wanting to add Php 5 to our servers for some time, but at the same time we didn't want to kill older scripts that some of our members were using. So, what to do? Well, why not run them both?

And that's exactly what we are now doing. And to make it all even cooler you can run both at the same time! All of our servers will from now on default to Php 4. But with the simple addition of a couple lines of code in a .htaccess file you can now run Php 5 in whatever directory you so choose. You can have all of your directories run Php 5 by adding the code to the .htaccess in your root, OR you can run Php 5 in whatever sub directory you choose by adding the code into a .htaccess file in that sub directory! And yes that will even work in sub subdirectories! You can find the code to add to your .htaccess here in our knowledge base:

Good deal Bert-Meister! Finding out the code changes needed to adapt PHP 4 to PHP 5 isn't a smooth sail.
.htaccess has so many applications. Is there a Masters key to .htaccess directives in non-klingon language any where that you know of by chance?
