weird happening?
« on: November 12, 2006, 12:43:55 PM »

Ok - trying to make a plain old file in a sub-directory.  First three times I made the file - it showed up as a directory.  And YES - I clicked on the FILE link.  Fourth try was a null file - but I filled in the information for the file name & extension.  Finally on the fifth try - it made the file.

Not sure if we're having problems or what - but figured I'd let you know

Hi ML,
I think what you experienced was exactly that. A "weird happening". We are in the process of upgrading PHP on our servers. That process is done manually by the sysadmins and it can take some time. During that process if something like a script or somesuch caused an abnormal load on the server, due to the upgrade process, it could cause the server to sputter for a brief time. Most likely that is what happened to you today. We haven't had any issues except for R's incident last night but that was not a server issue.
