out with the old, in with the new (turtles, that is)
« on: May 29, 2007, 07:28:43 PM »

(out) remember the baby box turtles i had? well, last week i gave them to a friend who has lots of wooded acres with a creek to release them back to the wild. it was cool watching them grow, but am glad they could be returned back where they belong.

(in) so now i finally got around to getting 2 water turtles for my ponds. for a couple of weeks, i'm keeping them in a tank to make sure they're eating ok, and seem ok, then i'll be putting them outside in one of my ponds. hopefully i can keep them contained in it and they won't run off. they are red eared sliders, a male and a female. you can tell the sex by the claws, look at them in the second pic, that's the male, the female has short ones.

i've always loved looking for turtles at ponds, now i have my own  specool

Well goodness gracious me D. Seems all is well in turtle world too! I really like that pic of the male. He has that "dude" look to him.
