Well I had a nice surprise today! I heard what I thought was a bird in distress. Went out to our backyard, thinking I would find a cat with a bird in hand...errr paw Anyway, I kept hearing it, but seen no cat with bird! I looked around the trees in the back of the house, and saw up in the top of one of the trees....AN EAGLE! What an awesome site! It was huge. Sat there preening and looking around. Also saw a smaller one flying around near by...must have been a young one, cuz it was much smaller. I figured the Eagle was calling the young one. Beautiful white head and tail feathers. After resting in the tree for a few minutes he took flight and was joined by the younger one.
Of course I didn't have a camera.
But here is a pic of what I saw

I'm going to keep an "Eagle" eye out and hope to see him again.
...;-) Rox

...;-) Rox And I missed it! Bald Eagles are common in these parts as they like fishing the river. I have not seen one yet. But I will someday. The animal life in these parts is very interesting. Sometimes a little too interesting (a cougar in your back yard), but having a Bald Eagle in your back yard is definitely cool!

how cool Roxy! I saw one fly overhead once, but could only see it because I happened to have binoculars in hand at the time.
