First, Congratulations on four years! WooHoo!
OK, really basic question.....
When I type my web address into google, I get several possiblities, with the first one as my home page, but, it is actually listed as......
fountaincityfurniture.com/index.html
How can I get rid of the....... /index.html...?
Someone told me they tried to go to my site, but couldn't find it, and I think it's because my card doesn't list the /index.html, either that or they messed up which is a good possibility.
So, long story short, how do I create a main page with only the .com in the listing?
One more,
Any tips on getting listed with major search engines?
Thanks, Rmartin

You already Have R. All you need do is type fountaincityfurniture.com in any web browser and it will take you to the index.html page. That's just the way domains work. Google will list it that way as their spiders crawl the entire site, so it will list the index.html, and whatever other pages you have.
As for getting listed in the search engines, the best way is to keep the content of your site relevant to what you are trying to say or sell. There is a whole business for "Search Engine Optimization" or SEO in geek speak. Quality links also help. By quality I mean NOT those huge link pages. Or trading links scams. Those won't help at all. Here is a great resource for all things SEO:

By the way R, that is an excellent site. Looks great!

Thanks Bert!
Now I've learned a new net word; it looks like I've got studying to do. Thanks for the link and the words of encouragement of my site. I pasted it together myself, no editor, and I need to validate it after some of my latest additions, but I want add more and make changes, so you know, one of these days.
Later, Rmartin
