Did I leave my site open to everone?
« on: September 22, 2007, 01:53:57 AM »

Sad  I was playing around trying to learn how to make my site and got a short message displayed at my site.  The problem is i used public_html (i changed it to index.html and deleted the words)  and it was logged by  google and msn.

The problem is google has this info in the cache and it was like that for a while before i changed it.

parent directory
my-pass
my-site
cgibin/
public_html

My question is this.  can someone get into my site with that info available?
Thank you for any help

Hi Shymav,
The answer is no. At least as long as your password is a good one. Folks will be able to see all of the contents of your directories however (at least the ones without index.html pages).
