What 'ya got there??

The new DAP server
« on: March 13, 2008, 09:17:42 PM »

It's there and I'm busy blowing it up just as fast as I can. It's fun saying to myself "hmmm, what can I blow up next?" Remember I'm doing these things "so you don't have too!" LOL! It might take another week or so. Remember, I'm also combining 5 servers into 1.

I have some requests before we get moved. There are four sets of functions that I want and I am sure others would want

Flash functions
Ming functions
Imagemagic functions

The next one is a biggy:

PEAR :: Package :: Image_3D
http://pear.php.net/package/Image_3D

I tried instauling that one myself and found out that the hierarchy was all screwed up. Includes that were in subdirectories were called as if they were in the same directory. I fixed that but couldn't figure out where I am supposed to put it.

Those will all be there Mike.

From the lack of complaints from Domania users, it looks like their move went a lot smoother than for amishhosting. Now tat thay are done, will we get flash, ming, imagemagic, image 3D and tidy functions? I have tried image 3D and flash a couple of times and get "undefined function" errors.

Hi Mike,
Yah, you guys were the guinea pigs for Domania. Also I could shut down the Domania filemanager which made things easier. Still wasn't "that" easy as it consisted of a week of 18 hour days. Heck the only time Capricorn has a problem is when I do something dumb. As an aside, the old Domania "Craig" server still crashes on it's own every three days. And there's no one using it! Which tells me there is a hardware problem with it, even though the datacenter insisted there wasn't.

I will get those modules installed for you shortly.

Mike,
Those modules have been installed. Ming might be an issue as it has been deprecated and Cpanel no longer recommends it. If you have any problems let me know.

That was fast. I tried to instal Image 3D several times and could never get it to work.

Testing Imagick yields:

Fatal error: Class 'Imagick' not found in /home/djmike/public_html/mike/temp/08/06/imagemagick_01.php on line 3

Yah apparently there are several different modules to install for .swf files. I'm working on finding the relevant modules for what you want to do.

Imagemagick is going to take a bit to get installed properly. Imagine that! There are some modules that I will have to install, and if those generate error messages then there will be some other things I will need do via command line. So this will take a couple of days to get working properly. Hang in there.

Mike,
imagick-2.1.1 has been installed. That will work just fine with Php 5, but could be problematic on Php4. Let me know if you have any problems.

I'm still working on Flash.

Still getting:

Fatal error: Class 'Imagick' not found in /home/djmike/public_html/mike/temp/08/06/imagemagick_01.php on line 3

Do I have to set a path to wherever imagick lives?

Mike there appears to be a problem with compiling it on the server. Not sure what the problem is and it could be something wrong with the tarball I'm getting from ImageMagick itself. More info as it develops.

Looks good. I did some demos of implode, swirl and thumbnail. I tried wave and vignette but they didn't work and a can't see why.

I have a script that swirls without imagick but this looks better. I made ine for wave that doesn't use imagick that does more (possible to have two wave functions, one top other bottom) but the the imagick version may be easier to use ... if it worked.

My first tests would only accept a path, not a URL. I have to figure out a way around that.
