Same here as far as cpanel. Get the user name login popup then the screen goes grey and popup appears again and again. No biggie, never used it BUT for years I could click on it without that popup..Don't know when that was added..

Cpanel is shut down right now as we are de crapping the hard drive. It would be good advice not to try and save anything right now also. This should be completed soon.

Something happened. I called webtv and they gave me their panecia: clear your cookies. Sure. The conversation made me try other users again. The first one got to my index page but no other. The same with tge next. The third one could get to soe more pages and I was able to do things for about 20 minutes before my domain booted me.

Got into cPanel. Email is still screwed up. Now it won't even accept the password. Didn't get much of a chance to try anything because cPanel started demanding a password and booted me out. Only got to try one file manager in the short window that I had and it didn't work.

Switched users back to here and nothing woks.

I was finally able to run a traceroute on my primary domain... the results are below.

Tracing route to sandycor.com [208.79.239.92]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     5 ms     5 ms     6 ms  10.176.160.1

  2     6 ms     5 ms     5 ms  gw03.lndn.phub.net.cable.rogers.com [66.185.90.65]

  3     5 ms     5 ms     6 ms  gw01.lndn.phub.net.cable.rogers.com [66.185.93.177]

  4     8 ms     7 ms     9 ms  64.71.241.101

  5     9 ms     9 ms    10 ms  gw02.wlfdle.phub.net.cable.rogers.com [66.185.80.10]

  6    28 ms    29 ms    28 ms  pos-2-0.igw01.ny8th.phub.net.cable.rogers.com [66.185.81.102]

  7     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  8    37 ms    36 ms    35 ms  vl3495.ccr04.jfk02.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.6.45]

  9    35 ms    36 ms    35 ms  te2-4.ccr02.bos01.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.6.9]

 10    35 ms   102 ms    35 ms  te3-2.ccr02.ord01.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.6.182]

 11    36 ms    37 ms    36 ms  te4-1.ccr01.ord04.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.24.178]

 12    36 ms    36 ms    35 ms  38.104.106.78
 13    36 ms    36 ms    36 ms  208.79.234.8
 14    37 ms    35 ms    35 ms  208.79.238.75
 15    36 ms    37 ms    36 ms  . [208.79.239.92]

Trace complete.

But... most requests for pages result in "Firefox can't find the server at www.sandycor.com." Several tries might get the page, but they might not either. Still smilin' though... I have complete confidence. smile

When I try to get C-Panel, I get a 404. 404s don't care about passwords.  thumbsupsmileyanim

Thanks for the update Mike. Cpanel will be restarted here shortly. We are purging some more dead files also.

Mike you might also want to unplug your lbb for 10 minutes or so to help clear out your cache.I once had
a file at my first webhost TL2 that kept reappearing up to a year after I deleted it--I finally got rid of it by
unplugging my lbb for awhile.

Bert will you let us know when you're done synchronizing the new server so we'll know if we're missing
files or if they just haven't made them over to capricorn yet.

PS.is the Woot smiley one of our choices because you're a Wooter--they have some really good deals but I check them out daily for their stories.

A full _year_? I once forced my webtv to try to load a 600KB image over and over to test a theory. It not only filled the cach of the user that I was using, it filled the cache of all users so switching users didn't help and filled some of the server cache so powering off or unplugging didn't help. Took 3 days before things were back to normal.

Scratch that. Again, as soon as I comment on the impossibility of getting any of my web pages to appear, I leave this area and bingo, there they are. My head hurts now, I'm gonna let this go for a day or two. It ain't worth the aggro.

I know Gary. Haven't had a chance to rebuild the redirects yet. That's on my list.

Ok. I'm hoping things have quieted down now. The issues we had today were basically just configuration and sync related things. And DNS of course.  Capricorn seems to be humming along nicely now. A lot of page requests are coming in and she seems to be taking them in stride with no problems. First thing tomorrow morning I will start working on the redirects.

This afternoon, it's a so far, so good kinda thing as every page I've tried has connected first time, so... fingers xed. C-Panel is still a 404 though. Good thing I never hardly ever use it.

After you get everyone's main accounts straightened out, I have a second domain that has a DNS record  still pointing to the old server.

Hi Mike,
Email me the domain info and I'll get it fixed.

Sandy,
I'll also look into your Cpanel issue.

I have .rfi pages (at PDHomes) for background and photos that are not yet working.

Thought maybe the redirects would fix.?

If you are using a bookmark or f-key to get to your cpanel it might not work now. Mine doesn't. I had to go to my domain name with /cpanel at the end and then I found it.

Yup Xena wins the prize!  headbang Silly me forgot that we are no longer using RVskins for Cpanel. So your current Cpanel bookmark/Fkey will use "rvskins" in the url. Best way to get to your Cpanel is like Xena said:

http://yourdomain.com/cpanel

or

http://yourdomain.com:2082

Then bookmark it again.

Thanks Xena!

I've just discovered my... erm... problem with C-Panel. It appears any old saved bookmarks will not access it; only a new direct link will do the trick. New link, save, and all is normal.

Edited to add:
Read the posts Sandy, read the posts. I see Xena came up with the solution above.

And my problems continue... this AM my pages are once again inaccessible to me as they are almost every time after I first log on. If things go as per usual, I will post this message and the problem will be rectified. Maybe that's what I will have to do every day from now on. It's worse than taking your car to the garage only to find the squeak has disappeared.

*Update - prior to posting. Yep there we are; I check a different page, it comes up after a few retries and suddenly everything's available now. It's my ISP, ain't it?

Yah Sandy it most likely is your ISP. Call 'em on the phone. Be nice. Be mean. Yell and scream. Threaten to hold your breath until you turn blue. Etc.

'Course it turns out I lied when I said everything; some things still haven't connected yet, ie... C-Panel f'rinstance, and it takes retry after retry when moving from one function to another inside the FM, and... the whole thing can, and often does, happen all over again if I use a different tab to access a page - even one I've already reached using another tab. It's a headshaker for sure. Am I alone in all this?
