Hi Sandy,
Ok. I'm sorry to have to say this, but I have been living in Google during this whole thing. There are times it seems when Windows will just refuse to accept a new IP number for a site. The causes can be several things including some spyware, your security program etc. Best thing to do at that point is to just back up all of your files and do a reinstall of Windows. I know that's a little extreme. Well ok it's a lot extreme. But sometimes it needs to be done. Frankly I've done reinstalls several times. However never for a reason such as yours. I think at this point we'll need to talk on the phone as to your options. Email me your phone number again and a good time to call and we'll work this out.

Bert

Ermmm... I'm gonna have to think about that Bert. That's a rather large kettle of fish I would strongly prefer not to dive into.

Agreed and don't go swimming yet. Let me know if you are still having problems. We have found a problem and it has been fixed. It "might" have taken care of your issue.

Nope, nothing's changed here. Still hit and miss with intermittent connections at best. If it's any help to you I can't raise anything at amishhosting.com/a.amishhosting.com or pdhomes.net either. Don't know if that's significant, but it's a discovery I made today.

Dangit! I was sure that would do it. Sigh. Ok Sandy, we'll keep working on it.

Sandy I just had another thought. When you are having the issue, obviously a tracert to your domain will fail. Try a tracert to a different domain such as zboxhosting.com then email me the output. That might help us nail this down.

Bert

Edit:
Actually send me both tracert's to your domain and to zboxhosting.com when you are having the issue.

It looks as though my long wait is over and connectivity is returned<fingers xed>. Anybody else still going through this, or are we all cruisin' on Capricorn now? I really hope I'm not speaking too soon.

Bert, I'm having two problems with domania.

I can't make a directory in the root directory; hope I'm saying this correctly. I can make a sub directory to an existing directory; but none on the main fm page. Get message:
make directory: unable to make directory, check permissions. (I"m not using any funny characters, just regular letters.)

Also I can't upload a graphic into the root directory; used to do this all the time. On uploader, just leave out the sub field. This comes in handy when working on an image at IM, just throw them all in the root and when finished pick out the one that's best and put it in appropriate directory, delete the rest. Get this message now:

STATUS: http://moorelinks.com/stuff/apple.gif was not uploaded successfully.
500 Cannot write to '/home/domania/public_html/temp/apple.gif': Permission denied Client-Date: Sat, 26 Apr 2008 00:18:08 GMT

I haven't tried  anything from 250free on this problem. Good thing is when I update my index.html at AH, it'll go in the root folder, just don't fill in the sub on uploader.

mike

Hope another post like this doesn't turn up, I lost it.

Mike,
We haven't moved Domania yet. Are you on d21c.com or domania.us?

Working great now! Already made that new directory and uploaded a gif into my fm. Thanks lots. Hope all the probs are ironed out and you can rest a bit.

It's good having things back to normal. Thanks Bert,
