Very nice Jer. The red 3d background image you are using is killer! Where did you get that? Reminds me of Adni18's work.
For my desktop I'm using the bblean shell for windows:
http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/
And the docks at bottom and left are by Rocket dock and yzdock respectively.
Rox is using Rocketdock straight up in XP. She hides her desktop icons.

Bert
P.S. Oh and I forgot to mention that the system monitors/weather etc on the right hand side is by Samurize:

Nice flower justdhf... I'd guess it's in the orchid family... here's a Utube shot of one blooming... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI71C08VUc0
Here's my current DeskTop (DT)... (a thumnail of http://bugland.us/im/screenshots/art2.jpg )
(Photo Courtesy of ESA - NASA) http://www.spacetelescope.org/
I like change my DT and main screensaver once a month or so...
I prefer a minimalist look most of the time and the only icons i have showing are what I am currently working with.
I aint sure most folks know about the windows OS side, top and bottom toolbars so i'll explain briefly as i can
I keep them on autohide but you can leave them open also.
most people don't like the 'autohide mode' because they can be annoying and will pop open when you get your mouse too close to the screen borders
the advantage of these toolbars, for me, is that I have nearly 100 shortcuts to programs or links,. available at the swing of my mouse.
so anyway to create them left click a folder (hold the left clicker and drag and drop it to the left side or top and release the left click as you move your arrow beyond the side or top.
To make it autohide, to "Close the Toolbar" (and to see other options), right click the toolbar in a blank spot and click on "Autohide"
I doubt you want to see all my icons but here they are anyway. (some icons I made or edited with Microangelo.. others I shamelessly stole from wherever I could :)
All these are on autohide. Top bar http://bugland.us/im/screenshots/topbar.jpg Left sidebar http://bugland.us/im/screenshots/sidebar.jpg and the bottom toolbar http://bugland.us/im/screenshots/bottombar.jpg
I'll add some more of my screenshots here at high quality for resizing to different resolutions.

Have a good bug day! ~t

I thought the flower in the middle of my desktop was some kind of daylilly till I saw justdhf's amaryllis, now I'm wondering if it's an amaryllis or an orchid?
anyway it's a flower I found online and added a background and some borders to it.
