Topic: Domania server move starts tonight at midnight Pacific time (Read 3580 times)

What 'ya got there??

Ok here's what's going on. You folks that are seeing an empty index when you go to d21c.com or domania.us are seeing the new server. The reason you are seeing that is because the index.html pages didn't get transfered over. And at this point I have no idea what other files are missing. In other words the Cpanel file transfer utility lied to me. I am talking with the sysadmins to see if we can do a "diff" comparison between the two sites. If that's possible that will tell us which files are missing, and all we will need do is upload the missing files. If that is not possible, well then I will need to transfer all of the accounts yet again. And that's going to take some time. More info as it becomes available.

The Webby cache is lying to me again. I see the domania.us site and can click all the links. ;-)
Also half of my Webby sig works.

Nope, I didn't unplug it. Maybe that is what it needs. I WAS offline with it for 2 or 3 hours while I was on the MSNTV2. When I got back to the Webby after that, there was no sign of the cached stuff, but it crept back in. I was a little surprised at getting the Domania.us site, because I had never been to it. But I guess that may not be exactly how it works. I will unplug the thing now and see what happens.

I got in d21c.com! The white page I've been seeing all day turned blue and I restarted firefox for another reason (probably nothing to do with my getting in). Then I clicked on a link to my index.html and it came up, so clicked on the member's area and then the fm and they all are working. Now if it just continues to stay that way. Hope everyone else's sites come up soon too. BTW Haven't tried webtv, watching The Hours.

I hereby take some of the credit! I unplugged the Webby and when I came back, everything "I" see seems to be fixed.
Well, Bert DID tell me to unplug it, I guess!

Having said that,, going to http://domania.us I was able to enter my file manager at d21c.com/ and also one I had but hasn't been deleted at domania.us
The file manager at domania.us has been empty since I stopped paying on it except for a file saying when it's due. Maybe'll use it again but I doubt it, use it after paying. It's never been used without payment.

The 5-year-old (grandson) came in earlier when I was trying to post, and saw your avatar, Bert. He asked me about the "cat," and what I was doing. I tried to tell him what this was all about. He said something like, does the cat go all around the world throwing pictures out of his mouth to people? I told him no, that was just a picture you liked, that you weren't really a cat. Eh, I guess he kind of had the idea.
Haha, I probably could have typed all day and not said all that. ;-)

Jeez Slan that is ancient! How big do you have your browsers cache set at? You might want to think about clearing it. By that I mean that "defacement" happened what a year ago? Or longer?

I clicked on Slan's http://d21c.com, and my box tried to go there. But it didn't ever go. It sat there with an arrow >>-----> and something about hacking on the thing on our Webby with the spinning world. The green rope went only a fraction of the way and stuck, and I got tired of waiting for it. I thought, well Bert must be in there tending to it.
the d21c addy takes me to the right place now.
Strange ways is common on the internet. ;-)

I saw all that Slan saw. I couldn't get the real d21c.com I will just post what I had in the Webby's info. I cc&p'd all of it and e-mailed it to myself.

Oooo, Chihuahua! That is even more impressive on the MSNTV2. We have "1"s and "0"s raining down on us. We first have a big blue pop-up that says "Welcome" We click that off and is says something about some kind of Knights. ;-)
I really ought not to have clicked it with my MSNTV2. I do need my sleep.

Well that's odd. Ya'll know how old that hack page is. Frankly I still can't see anything from the new server on my end. As soon as I can look and see what's going on I will fix it.

I've gone through both servers and can't find that hack page. I recommend everyone to clear their cache.
