Topic: Horde email is down (Read 408 times)

When trying to get into Horde this is what is shown:
A fatal error has occurred
DB Error: connect failed
Details have been logged for the administrator.
This has been going on for at least a week.. but as long as I can get in via squirrel I don't mind  just thought you might want a heads up.

I don't use Horde(or SquirrelMail either) but I got the same message as Misty when curiosity led me to check out my c-panel email just now...
A fatal error has occurred

Yup, Horde is still down. Also when you go to log-in/out to webmail/cpanel whatever..usually it has a pretty blue background and looks nice.. right now it has been pure white and the text is odd.. pics to follow:

I'm not sure what causes it to do that.. sometimes it stays nice each time.. sometimes it stays yucky looking. I'm using FireFox, XP Pro right now.. but it does it on Vista and Windows 2000 (I have 3 pcs.. well, 4 if I ever get my beloved Shuttle's hard drive repaired..)

I don't know how anyone else is using Horde because I still can't even log into it.
The links to Squirrel Mail on cPanel are still broken but I snipped off the extra stuff on end of the URL and got in. Was able to send mail but could not recieve mail. Got this message:

Hi Mike,
To the best of my knowledge Cpanel's webmail is still broken for Webtv users. It does work for PC/Mac and I believe TV2 users. I am going to try a local installation of Squirrelmail still. The problem there is it's a bear to install. I've already tried it a couple of times and each time it went boom. But I'll keep working on it.

Horde is now working fine for me. As a matter of fact, when I went in there today, I found several messages from people I hadn't heard a whisper from in over two years. Never having checked Horde prior to today, I guess those old musty emails mouldering away in the dim recesses shouldn't come as a complete surprise.  Strangely however, the messages only appear in Horde, not in SquirrelMail, which I have checked from time time over the centuries, mostly for the purpose of clearing out any spam that might have found its way in. Weird eh?

Other than a MIL/SIL, I usually don't get any "personal" email.. and the web based Horde and Squirrel have worked just fine for me. I get my "must have an email addy to do this" email just fine through those 2 sites.
I check via either depending on which my cursor lands on 
I have to say:
My husband absolutely loves my having my own domain. When ordering something while at work he can use whatever @mistymage .com and know that it will work as an email addy. He never has to worry that it won't go through... and doesn't complain that I spend a whole $100 a year just to have 1) web space and 2) email space a year. ... Not that he pays for it 
I guess what I am trying to say is... Bert, you are doing a bang-up job and I"m glad Paul picked you to pick up the reins!
