Hurricane Ike
« on: September 07, 2008, 05:23:10 PM »

This image of the track of Hurricane Ike is from the national weather service. It will update whenever there is a change to the track forecast. Ike is currently cat 4. And it will make landfall most likely somewhere on the Gulf Coast. I'm just putting this up as an aid for all you folks that might be in Ikes path.

Right now it looks like Ike will curve and hit east Texas. I was in north east Texas when Rita came through. We lucked out as Rita decided to curve north east just south of us. She wasn't supposed to do that, but I welcomed it LOL. But to everyone in the projected path, stay safe!

Hope he's safe too. After Rita, he might have just gotten out of Dodge early. I'm sure power is going to be spotty at best in the Houston area for the next few days.

OK - I just got an email from Mojo - he's ok.  He also posted in Web-nuts -

Quote
Just wanted to pass along to everyone that we survived Ike. A lot of damage on house out in Hardin county mostly trees and fences and light poles but luckily only one on the house. My house near Baytown actually took the storm well with only a couple of trees down and the only casualty being an old beat up Dodge Caravan. South of here is even worse. Kemah, San Leon, a good part of Galveston, Bolivar, and Gilchrist are gone. Not to mention Anahuac, Bridge City, and a good part of Orange county to the east which is also going through a huge crisis right now.

Most of the area is still without power and will be for sometime yet. I'll probably be powerless for the next 2-3 months as we were after Rita but like I said we were pretty fortunate considering.

Any "nuts" in this area, feel free to reply to this post with your stories. You have my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery and we will overcome this.

God Bless,
-Bill-
