Php Upgrade NOT complete in Mig
« on: September 15, 2008, 03:24:04 PM »

Php 5 is now default on Mig. Current default Php is 5.2.6. If you want to run Php 4 you will need to use the following code in the directories .htaccess file:

Code:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php4 .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php4 .php

And be advised that Php 4 will most likely be totally removed from the server by the end of the year.

MySQLi works on PHP 5 and not PHP 4. All of my pages that uses MySQLi I now get a error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_query() in /home/djmike/public_html/... on line 75

phpinfo() now shows no mention of MySQLi.

Hi Mike,
Mysql should be working now. I gave it a restart in case it was hung up.

Bert:  Hi
When I remove the .htaccess with php5 it goes back to 4 and my IMAGICK scripts do not work. Is there just a delay glich as I thought we could remove the php5 htaccess once the update was in effect??
Thanks.

..when I add the .htaccess php5 it works correct.

Mike: this is what Mig configure commands read on the upgrade.

configure commands:
with-pdo-sqlite=shared' '--with-pdo-mysql=shared' '--with-mysql=shared' '--with-mysqli=shared' '--with-pgsql=shared' '--with-ldap=shared'
php version 5.2.6

Hi Lila,
There appears to be a glitch on Mig as Cpanel is reporting the Php version to be 4.4.8.

It's being worked on.

MySQLi, not MySQL

PHP: MySQLi - Manual
http://www.php.net/manual/en/class.mysqli.php

MySQLi used to work on Capricorn, that's why I used it. I don't know wen it stopped working.

Seems Mysqli is no longer native to Php 5. We'd have to recompile Php:

Apparently there was a error with the recompile of Php on Mig. The Sysadmin doing to recompile failed to notify another Sysadmin who was communicating with me regarding the upgrade. So in a nutshell Mig is still at Php 4. And will continue to be for the next few days. I'll let ya'll know when it's done.

Sorry about that,

blink
