Ok, my two cents.
Bert approached me in October about getting a domain name and moving all my clutter and bright, shiny objects over to his http://zboxhosting.com hosting service.
I've always wanted a domain name, but assumed the costs would be prohibitive. I also had no idea how to go about it.
While I tried very hard to do everything myself, there were a few technical issues with which I was completely unfamiliar. I had to ask for some help.
Bert was very helpful, friendly and cooperative.
Aside from some misunderstandings on my part of how to establish a domain (brought on by the technical jargon involved), my transition from free site hosting to domain name went smoothly.
I had stuff on angelfire, geocities, 250free, batcave. I'm moving it all to zbox.
Zbox provides beaming tools, cgi and zip assistance, multiple file beaming, and a host of other tools that have helped me move even the largest, most graphics-heavy pages in minutes, without a hitch.
I'm very independent; I don't like asking for help from any one. So, the fact that the services are clearly marked and easy to use helps greatly.
Bert also runs a forum and an alt.discuss group in which we can ask each other questions, refer to services, etc.
Bert does not meddle in my account. The only times he's entered my domain's account were to upgrade the file manager, add a multi-file image extractor and add a blog platform.
Working with Bert and Rox is like working with old buddies. We have FUN, figuring out how everything operates, with the other users of zboxhosting.
Nobody's snarky. Nobody acts like a guru, dispensing wisdom to the ignorant. I never feel intimidated nor nervous.
I can ask anybody anything --well, except "boxers or briefs"-- and not feel lke I've stepped on toes or taken up too much of someone's time.
Since October, I've built or moved several dozen web pages. Some, like games, have JavaScript codes. Some are big table files. Some are long lists of links.
One is a blog. Everything works well, loads promptly and functions as I meant it.
And Rox seems to like my recipes, over in Rogi's Kitchen.
The fees are nominal. The support is fantastic.
Frankly, if zbox had been around 4 years ago, I'd have been operating http://rriverstone.com the entire time!
I was NOT paid to say this. I just think other people ought to know there's a hosting service that's totally MSNTV friendly with which I'm completely comforatable.
