My fellow ZooboXians, trying to install Fantastico's WebCalendar has become a pain in... Anybody here done it? Anybody done it without having to stick it in your root directory?
I've done that once, just to see if the @#! script could even be installed at all (it can), but I'll be $&3@! if I can put it into any other "top level" directory.
I've tried using existing directories, making up a directory name to see if Fantastico has to create one, entering my full website URL into the provided text box, changing chmod, and sticking pencils in my eye. Nothing! Nada...
I do not want this thing in my root. (if you have it installed, you'll know what I mean) It's got directories and subdirectories that, when laid end to end, wouldn't actually ever end.
Help me!!!
cc to Bert's mail.

Hi Sandy, You must specify a directory name during the install. If you don't it will install in your root. You DO NOT need to create the directory first, just enter the name of the directory you want and Fantastico will create the directory for you. To remove Webcalendar from your root, go back into Fantastico, then click on "Webcalendar", then click on the "Remove" link and then follow the directions to finish the removal. Then you can install it again, but make sure you specify a directory first.

Sheeeeeesh!!!...
Got it. If anyone tries this at home, the trick is ignore their example.
Although they show your directory name option with a slash at the end, it turns out they're just kiddin' around. Funny stuff. Thanks, Bert, for restoring my will to go on.

Seriously I do know how it is. I was once new to this stuff too. And yah sometimes the examples can be not "quite" right. And boy the things I blew up!
