Prof.Sandy, I thought I'd answered this posting already, but I don't see any sign of it!

The only way to get in touch with DJ Mike is via his Forum and that is create a password; Yes, I suppose I could. I'm just overwhelmed with passwords for another forum to remember. [ Security says one shouldn't use the same PW for all those places one needs one; I have 29+ PW now! :-( ]

However, Prof. Byron, who is a moderator on DJ Mike's Forum, has graciously given me a fixed script that indexes the images nicely, too.

Problem solved!

This one better post or perhaps, I did but didn't hit post?  rofl1

TY for your time, Prof. Sandy.

Ok, so Qwinnt... being that other people were using dj Mike's  phpimage script, why don't you post the script/fix that Byron sent you so those who might be interested can test it out? <wink-wink>

 4   Help! / Problems and/or Questions / cPanel Themes Changed  on: August 13, 2010, 03:37:11 PM
Started by spiral_one | Last post by spiral_one
As a webtv user, the basic 'X' theme has an entirely different look now. I don't know if it's a Cpanel change OR a problem on our end but it doesn't look anything like it did plus it takes much longer to load. To make it MORE user friendly, I changed over to the 'mobile' theme which tidies things up a lot better from a webtv (new classic) point of view. If Cpanel did re-do their themes then we have to live with it. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you.

Steve did fix it, but I'm still having problems with one.

Anybody want to hazard a guess?  :D

TIA

[ btw: I did post it to Steve ]

Qwinn't, since DJ Mike wrote the script, he'd probably get you the quickest answer. He may not come here any more. Maybe try him at Domania. Or see if you can find one of his posts(hint: look in the Script and Code Repository a little further down the main page) for a link to his website.

I found the problem while looking at some of my other Directories; it's a script problem and here is another message that I was able to cc'p :

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Filename cannot be empty in /home/qwinnt/public_html/PC/IMAGES/thumbs.php on line 53

Images in IMAGES - Page 1
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Fatal error: Class 'imagick' not found in /home/qwinnt/public_html/PC/IMAGES/thumbs.php on line 187

The problem is "imagick" shared server is down; Steve is looking into the problem for me.  He said nothing has changed so he doesn't know why it's not responding.

I'll know by tomorrow whether he fixed the problem or not.

I've been able to use this Directory several times, but within the last week or so, I keep getting "error_log" and here is what is causing it:

http://qwinnt.zboxhosting.net/NG/SHARES/TEMPs/indext.txt

My images are not showing up at all and I don't know why?  Should I just delete the whole shebang and forget about it?  In all the other places that I have this particular image "program"it's working perfectly!

TIA

I would advise you to practise html until you can do it in your sleep. Do the same with css. Those two represent the basics of web page construction. Without a thorough knowledge of them, the rest won't matter much.

I recommend using good old fashioned trial and error in your web space to practise the things you want/need to learn. I bet it's the way most people you know have done it and it is a practical way to gain the understanding you need. I also recommend w3schools. Web Tech University may be just fine, but w3schools is correct and up-to-date.

And whatever you do, don't copy. Practise, practise, practise. Your early mistakes will guarantee your future success.

TY Sandy, I agree with you  wink

The Html I have no problem with it's the CSS that I have difficulty understanding.

I've studied w3schools quite a bit too, and written several notebooks worth of notes. . it's when it comes time to execute the formula that I run into trouble.  Especially on something like a Gallery.

. . .and with so many chefs at the bbq givng their best advice on the many ways  to grill a steak, having all learned from the same knee, can be confusing at times.   huh

I understand that one shouldn't use Tables to make a Gallery, that's a No-No!  However, how one is to get-r-done otherwise is entirely a different steak?

I've since figured out how to execute the formula, and it's going to take me awhile.  Based on the info provided from several sources. . and taking from each to create me own thing and have it validated, too?!

I took the courses with WebTech University to get some insight and I knew the teachers would be on hand. . if no more than an email addy.  (I had to send in my homework after every lesson and then take the exam after the course)   Oh yeah, they warned about not copying too. . write everything . . .no cc&p'ing .

Now if I could just learn to use Notepad effectively.   rofl1 I wouldn't have to use so much notebook  paper. laugh
